Louis Chapheau is a self-taught artist who began painting in 2020. His practice positions the artist as an active agent in advocacy, dialogue, and self-reflection. Through energetic and expressive compositions, Chapheau explores art’s capacity to provoke productive discomfort and foster conversations that contribute to personal, social, and cultural evolution.
His works are held in private collections and have been exhibited in galleries across Europe, North America, Australia, and Africa, alongside works by notable artists including Keith Haring, Roy Lichtenstein, Robert Rauschenberg, Cy Twombly, Robert Motherwell, Joan Miró, Bob Dylan, and Mr. Brainwash.
For the past three years, Chapheau has lived and worked in Amsterdam, where his atelier is located in IJburg.
