RELICS OF ICONIC: A material extension of ICONIC

Relics of Iconic is the wearable extension of ICONIC a visual series created through the collaboration of Izzy Weissgerber and Lorenzo Agius, where painting and photography merge into a contemporary language of identity, iconography, and transformation. 

In this collection, selected works from ICONIC move beyond the two-dimensional image and are reinterpreted by Canadian designer Paul Ruprai into handcrafted, one-of-one bags. Lorenzo Agius’ photographic portraits form the foundation, transformed through Izzy Weissgerber’s painterly interventions and translated into collectible objects through Ruprai’s craftsmanship. Through his 1 OF 1 PROTOTYPE practice, Ruprai approaches each bag as an individual art object bridging fashion, design, and contemporary art. Rather than simply placing imagery onto accessories, Relics of Iconic transforms the original works into functional, collectible pieces that preserve the visual power of ICONIC while introducing it into a new material form. This collaboration reimagines ICONIC beyond the wall, exploring how art can be carried, collected, and experiencedwhere image becomes object, and visual culture becomes wearable.
