“ICONIC” is a contemporary exhibition project that brings art and photography into a distinctive dialogue around the sacred, the beautiful, and the iconic.

At a time when images themselves have become modern icons, the exhibition explores how spiritual symbolism re-emerges within today’s visual culture situated between sacred tradition and contemporary aesthetics.

As a venue, St. Elisabeth Church provides the ideal setting: a place of history, grandeur, and stillness, consciously opened as a stage for contemporary art, allowing for an intense and sensorial experience.

“ICONIC” presents 16 original photographic works by Lorenzo Agius, alongside 18 works by Izzy Weissgerber, in which painting and photography merge into a new form of visual iconography. The exhibition invites viewers to reconsider the sacred not as a distant relic, but as a living and contemporary visual language.
